A notary public is a public official who is authorized by the government to act as an impartial witness in the signing of important legal documents. The main function of a notary public is to verify the identity of the signer of a document, confirm their willingness to sign the document, and ensure that the document is not fraudulent or improperly executed.

In Florida, there are several things you will need to bring with you to get your documents notarized:

  1. The original document(s) that need to be notarized.
  2. Valid government-issued photo identification, such as a driver’s license, passport, or state ID card.
  3. Any additional supporting documentation that may be required for the specific document(s) being notarized.
  4. Any witnesses that may be required to sign the document(s).
  5. Payment for the notary fee, which is set by the state of Florida.

Yes, it is possible to get your documents notarized online in Florida. The state of Florida allows for remote online notarization, which allows you to have your documents notarized by a licensed online notary public without having to be physically present with them. However, there are some requirements and restrictions on this process.

To get your documents notarized online, you will need to use a secure video conferencing platform that allows for real-time audio and visual communication between you and the online notary public. You will also need to provide valid identification and any other supporting documentation required for the specific document(s) being notarized.

It’s important to note that not all documents are eligible for remote online notarization, and some documents may require in-person notarization. Additionally, online notarization fees may vary depending on the service provider.
